The control of gene expression

Created by Katie Estruch
13 Modules

The Control of Gene Expression course delves into the intricate mechanisms by which cells regulate the expression of their genes. This course explores the molecular processes and regulatory mechanisms that govern when, where, and to what extent genes are activated or repressed within cells. Students will examine transcriptional and post-transcriptional control, epigenetic modifications, and the role of regulatory proteins and non-coding RNAs in gene regulation. Through theoretical study, laboratory experiments, case studies, and interactive learning activities, participants will gain a deep understanding of how gene expression is controlled in prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, and the significance of these mechanisms in development, differentiation, disease, and evolution.
